Crimson Rosella Small Reverse Portrait
The colours of a Crimson Rosella are just so amazing, I had to paint one! Featuring a portrait of this beautiful bird, surrounded with bright foliage and miniature scalloped mount. The frame has been repurposed, painted with gently distressed Ringwali Pink and backed with scrap William Morris wallpaper. Measuring approx 16.8cm x 11.7cm, including the frame. Signed on the back.
Reverse painting on glass is an art form consisting of applying paint to a piece of glass and then viewing the image by turning the glass over and looking through the glass at the image. I've added my own twist by applying mixed media, such as paper and gold leaf. This makes it a challenge but rewarding way to create original pieces.
